Evergreen balcony plants
To furnish your balcony there are many ideas, but surely finding the right evergreen plants is what many would like, given the excellent resistance to any season. With an evergreen plant there is no need for too careful or daily maintenance, it is not necessary to follow too precise rules, or in any case check every day that the plant has not undergone alterations. Compared to other types of plants, they are very simple, and also for this reason they are preferred for decorating outdoor spaces. Generally for evergreen plants it also means perennials, and this type of plant needs a lot of soil and space to grow. We therefore recommend that you first look at how much space is actually available, why evergreen plants they are generally shrubby, and grow over the months, therefore they need rather large spaces. However, there is a good choice also for shrubs of small dimensions, for example we speak of dwarf plants, which have characteristics similar to those of larger dimensions, but which require much less space to grow, and therefore they are much more suitable for small spaces. When we talk about a balcony, we must first of all see how much space is actually available to grow plants, because it is one of the most important elements for deciding. Each country and each city has different climatic characteristics, so giving general rules and indications is useful, but in some areas they are not valid, given the very hot or very cold climate. Certainly in the high mountains or, conversely, in a country with a Mediterranean climate, the same conditions will not apply.
Periwinkle and Lewisia cotyledon
Among the various evergreens we can find, for example, Vinca minor, called jargonly periwinkle, a resistant plant, which from May, and generally until August, is adorned with flowers, which can be pink, white or blue.
Another well-loved plant for decorating balconies is Lewisia cotyledon, which needs a rocky ground, therefore a small flowerbed or a pot prepared ad hoc. The beauty of this plant is its extension in terms of size: this is why we must avoid making it grow too fast, so as to let it express itself in all its beauty. It prefers the sun, so place it in a suitable area, and water moderately.
