Plants for shade
The shaded areas of our garden can, at first glance, arouse fear: many think that they are destined to remain bare or that only unhappy and charmless plants grow there. The reality could not be more different: the essences capable of enhancing those areas are really many thanks to the intense green of the leaves, the alternation of their shapes and textures, but also to the bright colors of the blooms.
The best results are obtained with a luminous shadow, created by the deciduous foliage or by a wall, in an open space, but also in more sheltered positions, compositions of great impact can be created.
In order to obtain the best results, it is first of all important to evaluate the characteristics of the soil and the climate before planting: substrate composition and pH, maximum and minimum temperatures reached and availability of water.
Here are our suggestions!
Ornamental grass of great impact, rustic and vigorous, originally from Japan. It produces smooth and curved leaves, especially noticeable in white or yellow mottled cultivars; some, at the end of the season, take on reddish shades. Beautiful in the first row of borders in purity or alternating with other leaf essences.
