How to embellish vases with pebbles
Gardeners usually also love DIY because it gives the possibility of using unusual and cheap materials in a creative way, giving a touch of originality to our outdoor spaces. Today, the recycling of plastic materials, food packaging or construction waste is very fashionable, but objects often found in nature such as branches with a particular shape, sand or pebbles are often used.
Of course, in order to respect the environment and the laws, the collection must always be extremely moderate and intended for the creation of small objects. For more ambitious projects, contact specialized dealers.
In garden centers, in DIY or construction material stores we will easily find, and at affordable prices, stones divided by size and color. It will be even easier to obtain amazing effects. Here are some simple ideas to implement, but which will give you a lot of satisfaction.
Pebbles for mulching
In this case the stones will not only have a decorative purpose. Mulching is an indispensable practice to guarantee the health of plants: it helps us to reduce the evaporation of water, keeping the substrate moist. It is also important for lowering the temperature and effectively prevents the growth of weeds, so annoying to remove. For this purpose we can use pebbles of uniform or different sizes, but to ensure its effectiveness we must create a layer at least three centimeters thick.
From an aesthetic point of view, the possibilities are many. We can opt for color mixes or focus on monochromatic pebbles. In a modern setting, the ideal is to create a contrast between the color of the vase and that of the mulch, thus enhancing the essentiality of the compositions (especially if combined with plants with an architectural shape).
